Greetings everyone!

Today, I am sharing a different piece of writing with you all. A small deep dive into a particular actor who's slowly been gaining traction across the media. Someone whom I not only greatly admire as an artist, but firmly believe will certainly take Hollywood by storm in the very near future and beyond!

That name being none other than the immensely talented Isabel May!

First recognized for her earlier roles in the American sitcoms Alexa & Katie, as Katie Cooper, and the highly popular Big Bang Theory prequel series Young Sheldon, as Veronica Duncan. May was widely praised at the start of her career as one of Hollywood's best well-rounded up-and-comers to date. Pleasing audiences with incredible comedic timing that felt, in essence, grounded and true in nature to the stories being told on screen. Her captivating performances quickly earned critical acclaim and even won the hearts of countless fans worldwide. Both shows began and ended their runs from 2018 - 2020. Later becoming two highly respected titles among viewers due to their genuine, wholesome portrayals of family dynamics and the endless exploration of self-discovery.

Yellowstone Prequel Series - 1883

1883's Premise:

The post-Civil war generation of the Dutton family travels to Texas, and joins a wagon train undertaking the arduous journey west to Oregon, before settling in Montana to establish what would eventually become the Yellowstone Ranch.

In 2021, Academy Award nominee & highly acclaimed writer Taylor Sheridan, best known for Hell or High Water (2016) and primarily Paramount Network's most popular neo-western drama, Yellowstone, began work on his eagerly awaited prequel series 1883.

During pre-production, Sheridan first met with May when she tested for an earlier role in a different series, the Starz thriller Mayor of Kingstown. Immediately, Sheridan did not hesitate to contact her team & inform them of how blown away he was with May's work. That day, an unforeseen pledge solidified the opportunity of a lifetime. One that ensured to May that auditioning for him would now be a thing of the past moving forward in her career.

Before a script was even finalized, Sheridan advocated to the studio that May's casting was essential to the heart of the show, believing she was the needed anchor to weave the entire story together. As expected, he was spot-on with his instincts. Proving to everyone yet again why he is one of the greatest writers working in the business today.

Without a doubt, Isabel May was the ideal candidate for the leading role of Elsa Dutton. A character greatly revered by viewers as a survivalist and warrior at her core, but most importantly, an unwavering visionary in a world shrouded in cruelty. May's performance in the widely beloved television phenomenon is what truly highlighted her as a bona fide A-Lister of her own making. Throughout the series itself, she is unequivocally a sight to behold. When I say this is a woman who is sure to become one of the next iconic legends of Hollywood, I mean it as nothing but the indisputable truth. I can't remember the last time I've witnessed a talent this naturally gifted, and in tune with their craft, since 3x Oscar- winner Daniel Day-Lewis.

Easily some of the best work seen from an actor today within the history of filmmaking.

Yes, amazingly enough, she IS, indeed, that good!

In numerous interviews, May has also unashamedly expressed her fondness and deep love for books. Along with sharing the sheer importance reading has had in her life and how the hobby itself acted as a fundamental catalyst for her becoming an actor.

Her quintessential drive is to become a storyteller... Ultimately possessing the creative freedom to bring forth projects that convey themes emulating our inner selves. While furthermore questioning the core values and principles that wholeheartedly shape us as human beings. May signifies an ambitious artist filled with extensive passion, who wants to control the narrative of her own future. Exemplifying to us all of what one may become once attuned with their purpose. A true embodiment of an inspiring star...

Scream 7 - Cinematic Debut

Now having finally made her first major cinematic debut earlier this year, Isabel May has raised the bar yet again. This time... starring opposite another legend in her own right. That being horror's most beloved final girl, Neve Campbell. Best known for her portrayal of the resilient heroine Sidney Prescott in the cult classic film Scream (1996). Directed by filmmaker Wes Craven and written by screenwriter Kevin Williamson.

In the latest installment of Scream 7, May plays alongside Campbell as daughter and new protagonist Tatum Evans. Set in the town of Pinegrove, an assailant has emerged from the shadows in hopes of initiating a terror unlike anything seen before. Only this time, the danger is centered on the Prescott family. Now confronted with the reality of her mother's troubled past, Tatum and her loved ones are challenged with their biggest threat yet! Thrust into a new age of horror that will test their bonds to the absolute limit.

Initially impressed by her work on 1883, Williamson and Campbell, much like all her peers to come before, instantly recognized the undeniable fire within May. From that moment on, it became clear that she was the ideal choice to bring on board for this latest sequel.

Williamson, who was not only co-writer, but also director for the first time in the franchise's history, was keen on making this modern follow-up a personal story focused on Sidney's life as both a wife and, most importantly, a mother.

Yes, the chemistry Campbell & May share is truly magnetic, captivating, and powerful, but furthermore stands as the heart & soul of what makes this particular film feel so exceptional in its work!

Her upcoming projects audiences should keep an eye out for and will certainly be wowed by in the coming years are: Amazon MGM's romantic comedy, Love Love. First reported by Deadline Hollywood, early plot details revealed:

Following a struggling phenom who falls for a charismatic local ball boy at the US Open. Their unlikely romance just might be the sparks she needs to make it to the finals.

Directed, co-written, & produced by Joey Power. Executive produced by Isabel May and Alyssa Altman. Set to begin production this fall in New York. A first-time for May, who will be serving as a producer on a film under her production banner, Una Vaca Productions.

MR. IRRELEVANT: The John Tuggle Story - RELEASE DATE: DECEMBER 25TH 2026

Finally, later in 2026 will be the highly anticipated biographical film, Mr. Irrelevant: The John Tuggle Story.

PREMISE

The heartfelt story of the inspiring, enduring impact John Tuggle had on his team and teammates after being drafted by the New York Giants.

Directed by Jonathan Levine and starring a phenomenal cast including: David Corenswet, once again the remarkable Isabel May, Michael Shannon, and David Krumholtz. Scheduled for a release on December 25th, 2026!

In these recent years, Isabel May has proven to the world, now more than ever, that she can very well hold her own amongst some of Hollywood's most seasoned veterans. Possessing the skills & instincts necessary of a performer that are unparalleled. While giving cinema goers like myself exactly what we yearn for in artists: PASSION, AMBITION, & DEDICATION.

My reason for writing this article was simply to show appreciation-both as someone who's grown fond of May's work, and as an aspiring writer eager to eventually craft their very own stories in the future. Overall, my goal is to hopefully touch the hearts of readers with characters and worlds that can be either an escape or an inspiring reflection on the everyday hardships we all face.

As for Isabel May herself, I firmly believe, much like I mentioned once before, she is a force to be reckoned with in terms of superb talent, and will surely continue to soar throughout the industry.
